A most awesome THANK YOU to everyone who attended Heartland SPCA’s Martinis Gala 2012: We Heart the ‘80s on Saturday, February 4th! More than 400 guests had a blast eating sensational street food, listening to the top hits of the ‘80s, and smooching puppies. Heartland SPCA is proud to report that more than $370,000 was raised allowing us to continue the important work of caring for nearly 18,000 pets in our community each year! Thank you!

Heartland SPCA’s Humane Education Resource Officer (HERO) program and KC Pet Project volunteers will join forces to build 25 dog houses for pets in need through an event called Habitat for Paws from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11th at the Heartland SPCA Animal Medical Center at 5428 Antioch Dr. Merriam, KS 66202.

Friends of Heartland SPCA are teasing their hair, pulling up their leg warmers and going “Back to the Future” for Martins Gala 2012: We Heart the ‘80s from 6:30 – 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4th at the Overland Park Convention Center.
Twenty dogs were transferred to Heartland SPCA’s Lost Pet & Intake Center this afternoon, including a transport from MeadowBrook Safe Harbor in Wichita, KS and the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Recent strong adoptions for small breed dogs and puppies have opened up shelter space to give more pets the chance at forever homes.
